GWS: Where to get help.
This is a listing of helpful sites available to veterans who suspect or have GWS and need assistance. I have not checked these out but since its from VFW magazine you can be sure they are good sources.
VA has established a Persian Gulf War Helpline, 1-800-PGW-VETS, for information concerning VA programs for Persian Gulf Veterans, including medical care, research and compensation.
For veterans who can't be diagnosed VA refers them to one of four Persian Gulf Referral Centers. They are located in Washington, D.C.; Houston; Los Angeles and Birmingham, Ala.
DoD also has initiated a toll-free hotline, 1-800-796-9699, for Persian Gulf veterans who suspect they are experiencing medical problems as a result of Gulf service.
Individuals with firsthand information about "incidents" that occurred in the Southwest Asia theater during the war that may be related to health problems experienced by Gulf vets, may call DoD's Incidents Hotline at 1-800-472-6719.
