Hello Geezer, welcome to p.net. First of all, the p.net jumpmaster has requested all new members post a short introduction in this forum. If you have, Great, if not, I strongly urge you to follow orders. Secondly, fill out your profile. There are a lot of great Troopers on p.net, they have been places and done things you will only see in the movies and on TV. They like to know who they are dealing with and can you "walk the walk". I read your first post about the Cold War Medal/Assoc thing. It did not go well, did it? Walk before you run. "Some of you men post your thoughts thousands of time. Anybody that gung ho should still be in the service." . Gung Ho is an attitude, there are Paratroopers, Pathfinders, Rangers, Marines, Special Forces, LRRPS, etc on p.net. If they weren't gung ho, they would not be who they are. If being proud of ones Military accomplishments, proud of serving their Country, proud of their Jump Wings, then I am the gung hoest of them all. "Remember not everybody has the opportunity to be a hero". . Hero is just a word, no one looks for an opportunity to become a Hero, most Heros I have come in contact with, don't think they are Heros, and don't like to be called Heros. "Nor the physique that allows them to be in an elite unit." Physique, NUTS! I am 5 ft 9 and weighed 135 lbs when I went through Jump School (in the middle of Summer) and there were guys smaller than me that made it. There were also many a lot bigger and stronger that did not graduate. Being in an Elite Unit is as much mental toughness and determination as it is physical. P.net is a great forum, with great guys and gals, stick around, enter into the fray, and have fun. Show respect and you will receive it. RJ

geezer,
A warm welcome. Wow, what a great military history. You sure served in some of our most historic times. I'm sure that you have hundreds of stories to tell and hundreds you would rather forget.
Don't let these young pups put you off. They are very protective of Rigger82's site here and are on the constent prowl for posers and wanabees.
Again, welcome to the site.

Hey geezer, Now that is quite a profle. I am eating humble pie along with some crow. Now perhaps you see the importance of an intro, would have saved a lot of flack and me putting my foot in my mouth. 81 WOW! You may very well be the oldest member of p.net, in years that is. I thought I was a newbie (new to p.net) oldie (in years). Can't hold a candle to you. By the looks of your profile, you were gung ho and had the physique enough to be in an elite unit and a hero. The only thing that bothers me is that your first post does not sound like your profile. Anyway, Hope you stay with p.net, I am sure you have a lot of valuable experience and info to pass along to the rest of us young whippersnapers. RJ

Welcome to the board Geezer. No heroes here, especially me, just a bunch of good men willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
