even though Merrec's discharge from the USMC may have been bungled still hard to believe they would want him to go back through Basic Combat Training, s#!T he will probably waltz through it like it was a weekend at bernies

To answer the question about my location preference for BASIC...
I have no preference...I will grind out whatever they dish me!!! I will be top of my class no matter where they put me...
I just do not want to be dissapointed with a "soft" training...Since BASIC is going to put me out-of-shape....My body is prepared for Ranger or SF at this point...not a cheesy 2 mile APFT run... When I get out of BASIC I will need to get back up to speed with my normal work-out routine which is much more intense than BASIC can dream of..
Regards
Chris

After going through OSUT at Jackson for Finance, and watching the special o the History Channel, I'm sad to say, gentlemen that it has come to that, at least up there. I often referred to it as a cross between my years of football camp and the few years i spent working on staff at a Boy Scout Camp. Comparing "notes" with friends of mine who went to Benning, Knox and Sill, it was much easier. If givin the choice, boss, take Benning. You'll feel cheated if you don't and the reality you mentioned of Basic getting you out of shape might be a reality. In the later weeks of Basic and all through AIT, some of us 'older and more responsible' student were allowed to go and run in the evenings on our own, but it was at a circle track across the street from our barracks. Sounds like with your current physical state and your USMC breeding, you won't have a problem. Good luck, my brother

Thanks everyone for all your help and support...
This may be my last post..
My deadline for re-inlistment ends this Thursday June 26 and for the last month the recruter has been FU#$-ING around and now he waits to the last minute and now runs into snags that may require additional info from USMC, which would take too long to get... I have two other recruters in different states now in the scene with all papers ready to go, good chance waiver should go through with atleast one..BUT recruter number one is not giving my ASVAB scores up to the other recruters, thus keeping me to himself..since I can't retake ASVAB for 30 days...So I am ready to vomit and my 8 months of prep are now a waste looking like not a reality due to incompetent BS....It's down to the wire and my back to the wall... If this does not happen I will be depressed and probably won't be into coming back to this site, since it will just kill me too much to think about it anymore... At the least, I can say I went out fighting all the way to the end..
Best luck to everyone..
Chris

OK...Recruter A wants me all to himself and won't give up my ASVAB scores to any other recruter who is also working to get me in...So far bad news, recruter A has told me waiver did not go through and not enough time to get required documents requested from Quantico.....
So I feel like the skydiver who is at 800ft with the ground closing in fast and have not pulled the rip-cord yet!!!!
I regrouped over the weekend and despite all despair and very low odds, I wrote up a new plan of attack called "OPERATION GO-GUARD" in which I resort to some hellish tactics to pull this one off with only 4 days left till the game is over...
I won't go out without fight till the end....
Hey, Ive won hockey games with 17 seconds left, so I know to never give up..
If things don't work out, at least I put out 800%.....
Best of luck to all...
Chris
