They are ratings, not MOS. I don't know about that one. I don't even know the coding system. SR might mean Seaman Recruit. The Navy rank and job systems are combined. A Corpsman E-2 is called a Hospitalman Apprentice and a sonarman E-2 is called a Sonarman Apprentice.

9760 is the Navy's way of identifying the broad category of the jobs assigned to that classification. 9760 is identified as "Electrical/Mechanical Equipment Repairman". This category contains the following rates (jobs):

AB,AD,AE,AM,AN,AO,AS,BT,CM,DC,EM,EN,FN,GM,GS,IC,IM,MM,MN,NF,OM, & PR.

These are all "get your hands dirty" trades. Your local Navy recruiter can give you a print out of any rate that describes the tasks associated with that job.
"SR" probably stands for "Seaman Recruit" or E-1.

Where did you find that? I looked on Navy.mil and .com. I didn't see any rating stuff. I did a few searches too.

This was in a hand-out my boss gave me when I was hired on in my present gig of working with Navy recruits. I believe it is an extract of the Navy's MILPERSMAN Instruction. There are other groups of rates under other classifications as well. If anyone is interested, I can list the classifications and the rates associated with them tomorrow when I get back to work. (I'm at home right now and being a simple old soldier, I don't have the classifications and rates memorized yet! [][] )
