I have heard of T-55 APCs. They take out the turret and put in benches. The Merkava RULES too. They use ballistic grade metal EVERYWHERE. They think the whole thing, down to the radio antenna is supposed to keep the crew safe. What a concept.
Go with God, but make Him walk the point.

Israel & South Africa both rebuilt old Chieftan tanks into APCs... got some pics on my home PC of both flavors if anyone wants to take a gander (yep... I've got a rather large archive of such things, big surprise eh?[ ])
