Hey you awesome people of Paratrooper.net, how y'all doin'? Well, I'll get right down to the point of this here short topic. For a few years now I have been addicted to one of the world's deadliest (pardon the redundancy) addictions: pornography. I know that many of you are thinking at this moment how disgusting that is, but I also know that there are some men and maybe some women out there who might be suffering from the same addiction.

You might think that you are doing fine, and that you're life needs no changes, tweaks, or tune-ups, and that is your right, your decision. But there might be a few of you out there who really really want to get out of this prison made of impregnable iron. I did. I was so disgusted with myself that I just had to get out of that filthy world that I had created for myself.

Now, let me make a little comment on the side right now, I was and still am a Christian. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, etc. can all suffer from this addiction.

O.k., I don't want to take up any more of your time. I just wanted to tell you that there is hope. I couldn't get out by myself, I know many can, but I just could not. I asked for help and I got it from a great organization called Setting Captives Free. They are a Christian organization with Christian methods that really helped me. I have been pornography free for quite some while now. Their website is: www.settingcaptivesfree.com

I know that this is a long post, but I just care so much for y'all that I had to tell y'all that there is a way out. I would really like for each and every one of you that has a problem in this area to be set free from it.

Anyway, that's it, and I wish you well. AC.

P.S. OH, AND BY THE WAY, THE COURSE IS FREE, I REPEAT, FREE. O.k., I am really out now.

Looks like an interesting site! Not only is pornography an issue, we live in a culture that applauds and promotes all types of 'sexual freedom' that God calls 'SIN'. I know taking time to 'feed the Spirit' in a world that force feeds the 'flesh' is part of the answer. I think I will take the course tour just to wee how they approach it! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just because there are few replies, doesn't mean there are few views.

Go with God, but make Him walk the point.

And in our case, views are what matter. AC.

A lot of times it is not ease to just confess sexual sin and let the Holy Spirit cleanse us and empower us to live lives of sexual purity. For most of us of the male persuasion it really takes an inward act of the Holy Spirit to convict, cleanse and heal. Being a married man (almost 28 years) I have found that when I read God's word concerning how God has blessed me with a wife, my love for her swells up so strongly that I cannot even consider desiring another woman, real or celluloid.

Yet, for the unmarried, uninvolved, there are no recourses. Its just the cold, biting wind going right through you.

Go with God, but make Him walk the point.

Good suggestions, Chaplain!

Rickdog, I hear you too! I wasn't always married.

I know of one recourse, but it might sound crazy. In addition to Chaplain Chucks suggestions, some of which apply to singles and marrieds, I am reminded of a couple of sections of scripture.

Jesus talked about sexual sin in the form of adultery. The written law of the Old Testament said adultry was a no-no. Jesus said if we lust we have comitted adultery already. Sounds like Jesus made it even tougher. Maybe not. Jesus spoke of two commandments instead of ten. Love God with all our soul and mind was the first. Love your neighbor was the second. He then said that everything in the big 10 and all the little details were somehow wrapped up in the 2! Somehow God has written the 10 and all they represented in our hearts so that if we get wrapped up in Him, His Spirit within would cause us to desire to please God and not want to do that which is unpleasing to Him! This goes for anything, not just sexual impurity.

Has B4B always been faithful to that principal? I would be a liar if I answered yes to that one! All I know is that somehow it works, even with the strongest urges we face. I also know that when I do something unpleasing to God I can ask for and receive forgiveness. 1 John 1:9. Is that helpful at all?
