All of the support units in the Division, signal, engineer, MP, etc., have been split up and assigned to the four brigades. You got to keep up, son.

Is my beloved A-1/17 Cav gone now? They were talking last year about breaking it up, choppers going to the 101st and the ground Recon going to a PIR.

Most of the 1-17th went to the 101st. But I believe the plans were to stand up a new battalion in the Combat Aviation Brigade. I think the move to Campbell was meant as a shortcut to help them get all of their aviation assets up in time for their deployment.

Basically, they went to each BCT with the rest of us bastards (formerly SSB/PSB) To break it down even further for ya. A co 82 Sig is now C co 1st B(rigade) S(pecial) T(roops) Bn, B co is C 2nd BSTB, and so on. The HHC element is now the D(ivision) STB which holds Repo, Band and HHC Div. Lastly, there's a Signal Company in what used to Discom. That 82d SIG Co, along with 21st Chem, 11th QM (riggers) and 82d Finance make up the Brigade Troops Bn, which, with BDE HHC element, make up the Sustaining Troops BDE. Make sense?? And trust me, I couldn't just make that up.
