Also, what's with the shoot-me colored stuff all over the white "camo"?
Yes, I thought all of the black gear and uncamo'd weapon make for very nice contrast and a super nice fashion statement. They might just as well turn on their strobe lights with the IR cover off.[thdown]

I know that we never had clean overwhites when I was up North. We used white medical tape on our LBE and Weapons to breakup the outline.
However, remember that you don't want to be all white unless you plan on being buried in the snow. Most of the time the white black or dark green mix is the best because it allow you to blend in with the trees, brush and rocks. Not everything gets a full white coat in the winter.
As far as boots go we had three types. Extreem cold vapor barrier (white ones), cold weather (black one also know as micky mouse), and muckalucks (gray/green canvas with rubber soles that went up to the knee).
In addition we also had a mountaineering type boot similiar to the mattahorn boot (black leather used alot with crampon for ice climbing). And of course the standard combat boot.
The buckles on the boots look like crampon straps. They may also be wearing gators over their climbing boots.

Geez... you fellas anal-ize everything[ ]
The fellas pictured above have Trijicon TX-30's mounted on their M4s... not standard ACOGs. Fella to the right also has a AN/PEQ-2 fitted. Between the iceaxe and crampons, it's pretty obvious they were out for a climb somewhere... rucks are probably off to the side and LBE/Vs have a nasty habit of messing with ropes so chances are they have a camelbak for water and the rest of their stuff is on their rucks. Betcha they just finished training and an intrepid photographer begged for a snap...
