I did a search on 19d's and got a lot of info, but I still have a couple of questions regarding 19d and abn. I read that 19d's can get abn in their contract, and the 82nd has the 1/17th. Is this the only abn 19d unit? Can a 19d get abn and Italy? And does the 101st have any 19d's?
Thanks, voltaic

A little off here, ABN FDC Im getting my fist in august, Im going 19D, I talked to the NG and they do AIT for 19D by training you in house one weekend a month and then you grad when you do your two weeks. They said it usually takes 6-8 months. Well yesterday I talked to a USAR recruiter who said that USAR does not do that and they dont honor that as an AIT if I wanted to go reserves in the future [after NG] Both recruiter were vague at best and admitted that they really didnt know a whole lot about it. On the plus side however is that both have schools the NG is an F7 slot and the reserve is for DI school. What is the real deal no BS about the train as you go program the NG has, and why wouldnt the USAR honor it? It really makes no sense to me and your keen recruiter wisdom minus the car salesman crap is always appreciated.

I think there is a civil affairs unit in columbus oh, Why? Other than the chance of them being a jumping unit what are the advantages to going civil affairs?
