I would have to agree that your 1SGT handeled this quite well given the situation of todays Army of One PC BS. And yes I still belive in WALL to WALL counceling , When the opportunity warrents and their are No cameras around. But given this situation, it always hurts worse when money is coming out of your pocket. Kudos to that 1SGT.

I would like to say that I would have handled the exact same way. But I would be lying. There was a reason why I never made E-5 in the three years I was in . . . .

No, I probably would have broken her kneecap, . . or at least her face and ended up demoted and in the stockade. [dunce][dunce]

This is why she made 1SG and I just made Spec-4!![8]

Zerby,

Female or male your first sergeant did it the right way. And that's why you still have some learning to do. Yes you are probably correct most SSG's would have just about done it the way you described. And in most cases they would probalby now be a SGT. Your 1SG sounds to be wiser and more understanding of the total picture. Had she or any other NCO acted the way you described you would you would be the bad guy and in the wrong not the SP4(-).

You might want to take that lesson to heart for future reference. And that's because I can just about guarantee it will happen to you in the future.

There is no doubt that I agree with the way she handled the situation, she actually did get the chance to have a facial with the soldier again when the MP 1SG brought the SPC over to her office. She is a level headed 1SG and in our CO you have to be. The soldiers here know IG, EO and their congressmen all to well to run around here like a lunatic. It is just such a culture shock from the Ft. Bragg level of discipline to this level. I guess that is just the way it is in Garrison units. I have been through situations in the past like that, and while I did not punch the soldier in the throat (I did handle situation professionally) I am not going to say I did not want to. I am assuming this when I say that there isnt too many NCO's, past or present in this forum who would not want to dropkick a soldier should that same situation arise. Arcticabn, I put the blurb about the female just in case people saw that I was 11B and drew a blank about why I have a female 1SG, there are alot of female soldiers I have run across in my time who I have respect for so I didnt state that to be sexist even as it may of come across as so.

Zerby, I had heard you went back across the river.
Here is my take seeing as she is in my platoon. This same soldier has been called into the 1SG office in the past for her off duty conduct. I know your 1SG and I think she did the right thing. I would hate to see a NCO get into trouble in todays army. Yes she should have dropped kicked her. I haven't heard what is going to happen yet but after hearing the story I now knoe that this soldier has no Integrity. She also didn't answer her phone for 20 hours and refused to return phone calls. They had to go to her apartment and get her to come in.

Yea, they let me go to the Company so I can square last minute personal things away as well as prep for school and PCS. I had heard who the soldier was and I must say I am suprised, I dont know much of her but she seemed to have her head screwed on tight from what I knew. Maybe this will be a wake up call.

Well she was a good soldier until she was dating a dirt bag and she started acting like him. Also the PLT over at McNair has no discipline. I put a soldier who showed up drunk on a PBT and I got shouted at. They cover up a lot of stuff.
