This is a quote from another board. Purely RUMINT!
Told to me by my neighbor, a BDE CSM in the 82nd. My neighbor said it this is what was briefed to him directly from the 82nd CG.
Over the course of several months, the last slide during the daily BUB was supposed to be funny, but contained some racists and sexists comments. Noting extreme, but inappropriate for a Bn BUB.
A senior NCO in the S3 approached the Bn CSM about the BUB slides being inappropriate. The Bn CSM dismissed the idea of the slides being inappropriate.
The senior NCO from the S3 then sent the slides to either the division CSM or CG, I forget which. The Bn CO and CSM were then relieved.

| Why didnt the S3 NCO take it up with the S-3 his boss ? I just feel that this situation merited action other than a relief.

I have to believe that if they were immediately relieved (both CSM and CO) then it had to have been more than 'questionable' and if it were more than 'questionable' why then would only a senior nco in S-3 be bringing it up. There would have had to be more people questioning it.
Something doesnt sound right.

According to the Army Times the briefing was for the US Ambassador and a "high-level delegation of U.S. Senators". That could explain why it happened so quickly. Also, according to the article, LTC Jenio was Gen. McChrystal's XO when the latter was the JSOC commander.

| I'm getting nothing on my old network. Everything I am hearing is already public. Sorry.

| RACIAL IMAGE LED TO REMOVAL OF 82nd LTC AND CSM http://www.fayobserver.com/Articles/2010/01/30/972239 We still have a long way to go in this country. Not even our military can set the example and we are in 2010. Pathetic! Nobody's resume ever overrides poor judgement especially at the O-5 and E-9 levels. Paratrooper or not! Weak.

If this is true it is justified! This is overt racism. It is not too far reaching to say a commander is responsible for his command briefing slides. Good info, RR.
