Hello Everyone, the 173rd ABCT is deploying to afghanistan and I would like to ask you to keep them in your thoughts, but I know that you always do. Good luck with the website and I will message when I get settled in.

| Hello all, Thank you for the kind words, I have passed them on whenever possible. Everything is going well so far, our soldiers are motivated to do their jobs and the Afghans are helpful. Please continue to think of the soldiers here in the 173rd because they do appreciate it.

| Hello everyone, Just a quick update from A-stan. Everyone here is doing great after the holidays. I got a chance to see everyone in my AO on christmas which was a great opportunity. Our guys are living well and are in great spirits which is a very good thing. Anyone who would like to send something to our guys can PM me with an email address and I will give you an address you can send your stuff to. Please continue to think of our guys because they do appreciate it.

| Hello again everyone! All is well here in Afghanistan. I finally have my civilian internet up again but it is a never-ending fight with the bandwidth suppliers here. You guys are doing good and they are in high spirits. I see smiling faces and hear laughter everywhere I go and everyone seems happy to see us at the COP's. I hope this finds all of you well! I have a copy of the battalion newsletter if anyone is interested, just PM me with an e-mail and i will send it to you. Happy New Year!

| Hello Everyone, Just an update to anyone who may still be reading this thread. Everything is going very well over here. As I go out and see both our soldiers and the local nationals, I am always surprised that they seem to be working so well together. The Afghan National Army is taking the lead in many of the things that are happening here and that is a great sign! I feel much safer this deployment than I did last time which is never a bad thing. I hope that this message finds all of you well and as always if you are interested in sending anything to our soldiers or receiving my Battalions newsletter (It has all kinds of different information about what is going on in our AO that can be released to the public) let me know via PM and I will get you what you need. Also please continue to think of the guys over here because I KNOW they appreciate the thoughts.
