Thank you, all. Your prayers are much appreciated.

For my uncle's birthday, I had the following poster made for him...

First of all, Prayers to your Uncle, and hope for a speedy recovery!

Secondly, my appologies from the Nursing profession that your Uncle had to get himself up the last time he was hospitalized. The nursing shortage doesn't even begin to explain it, nor excuse it.

" After the demise of the best Airborne Plan, a most terrifying effect occurs on the Battlefield. This effect is known as the Rule of LGOPs ( Little Groups of Paratroopers). This is, in it's purest form, small groups of pissed-off 19 year old American Paratroopers. They are well trained. They are armed to the teeth and lack serious Adult Supervision. They Collectively remember the Commander's intent as ' March to the sound of the Guns and kill anyone not dressed like you', or something like that. Happily they go about the day's work..."

Prayers to your uncle for a speedy recovery, and my sympathies to him for having to deal with the nurse chewing him out when help wasn't coming.

I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.

I just heard that the doctors want my uncle in a hospice, and said he probably only has a short time remaining -- two weeks at most.

My prayers are with your Uncle and your family. May his remaining time here be peaceful and surrounded by loved ones.

Thank you all.

As an update of my uncle's status...

On January 15th, doctor's told my aunt (Bill's wife) that he had a week or two at tops, because he wasn't eating. On January 18th he had a single donut. Since then, he's eaten a little. Currently, he's at rehab, and they're uncertain what to do with him.

Two days ago I was told they wanted to insert a feeding tube, but he adamantly let them know what they could do with that idea.

Today, my Mom and I stopped by to see him. He keeps saying that he's going home "tomorrow" (he's been saying that since I saw him last on the 18th). My aunt (his wife) told him that he can't go home until he does therapy and can walk. His response: "Don't tell me what I can't do."

He's apparently still feisty.

He is certainly holding on (or more aptly, being held onto by the Lord), but I'm sure his time remaining is short. He's suffered three strokes since September. In late November (just prior to his 90th birthday), we were told he'd never talk or use his right hand again. Less than two weeks later, he was talking, and his right hand is as good as his left.

I appreciate all of the prayers on his behalf, and he can certainly still use more. Thank you again. Will keep you all posted.

Our continued Prayers for your Uncle and all of the family!

Thank you, all.

As an update on the situation, I just found out that my uncle had been moved to hospice earlier this evening, and just now my Mom phoned to tell me he passed away.
