Hello fellow troopers and family members, unfortunately one thing always seems to follow military service and that is medical necessity. Whether a direct result of combat or injuries sustained over a career most veterans will need medical advice, attention or assistance in their lifetime.

With this in mind, I am opening a new section here at Paratrooper.net dedicated to helping our brothers and sisters share information and get the attention they need. Things that this section will start to provide are:

- Information/articles on military medical issues and breakthroughs
- Support for organizations like the DAV, Wounded Warriors, PVA etc
- Assistance and information on working with the VA medical system
- Available benefits to veterans with disabilities
- Private place for PTSD/TBI sufferers to talk through rough times
- A place to ask questions about medical concerns

Through the support of this sites membership and reaching out I hope to offer military personnel and veterans an opportunity to get the help they need from people they can trust at a time that they may feel most vulnerable. You are NOT alone and WE don't intend to ever let you go it alone.

I gotta an itch and a strange rash..........

... and it burns when you pee?

Actually, when it comes down to jump injuries, MTBI, and PTSD, I have been through my fair share, and while I am NOT a medical expert by any stretch of the imagination, I am always willing to lend an ear.

I think this is a great idea.

Sometimes just finding out you have others with the same thing you can talk to is a big help. I have invited a long time member who has been out of touch lately to get back involved. He has PTSD and it looks like confirming TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) so this forum is a way to get him the assistance of the group AND for he and his wife to share details that might help others.

Great idea and kudos, Mark.

For those with TBI (and, in particular, their families), I empathize. My wife and 5 year old son have been diagnosed with significant TBIs and PTSD from the 2007 fireworks accident. I am happy to help in any way and also happy to provide contact information on medical experts that we work with (who also work with returning vets) to properly diagnose TBI and treat it (and accept insurance).

PM or e-mail me direct 24x7 and God bless.
