Ertman (10/9/2008) I remember when this first happened, but always thought that cooler heads would prevail and he would have never been sent to prison. How so? We still have Border Agents in Prison for doing their Job, so par for the Course and "American Justice" Don't the kool-aid! If the Border Patrol agents had been forthcoming and reported the weapons discharge when it happened, they would have been jammed up. But they decided to cover it up. I remember when this happened here in El Paso,,,everyone thought they acted dutifully and lawfully,, except the hispanics here, who are awlays against the Border Patrol no matter what. Then it came to light that they had tried covering their actions up,,, opinion swung to guilty before the trial could even begin,, the trial was just a formality. Not being honest and trying to alter evidence and cover up the facts just paves a road you dont want to go down,,, it never ends well. Law Enforcement officers have the deck stacked against them regardless, as this officer who won his appeal found out. Many people see a badge and see "the enemy". Thank God he got true Justice.
