Having been a Life Member of the NRA for more than 20 years, I receive a complementary copy of American Rifleman each month.  Mark A. Keef IV, the editor and chief wrote an article in the August issue about the M1A1 going at auction for $20,125 with a date of June 1943. So popular has the carbine become that AutoOrdinance has come out with a new version of the Paratrooper weapon once carried by our troopers in WWII, for just $1030 retail!  For the sellers review of the weapon see http://www.autoordnance.com/pr_ar0506.html but the article written in American Rifleman is worth a look!
