| I was wondering the same thing, but with all of the crazy terrain in their part of A-stan, it wouldn't surprise me that someone could move without being seen. Also, just to be a stickler, it wasn't a COP. It was just a vehicle parking area with an OP. A COP designates, although not everytime, more permanent settings, i.e. concrete barriers/walls. From COL Preysler's (173rd ABCT CDR) interview with Stars and Stripes: "People are saying that this was a full-up [forward operating base]/combat outpost, and that is absolutely false and not true. There were no walls," Preysler said, latter adding, "FOB [COP] denotes that there are walls and perimeters and all that. It’s a vehicle patrol base, temporary in nature."

agonyea (7/21/2008) Troops Angry At Media Bias and Laziness Only when troops can be portrayed as vicitims does the media show much interest in "reporting" on their activities.
