I am now set up in FOB Geronimo for the next five nights. We began setting up the hospitality room and still have to run to the Class 6 on post. Any of you guys at Benning/Columbus stop by the Hilton Garden Inn and say hello.

| Hope all of you will have a great time. Looking forward to after-action report and photos. Tell my fellow "Animal Farmers" to toss a couple back for me!

| I haven't had a lot of time to post about the Reunion, but I will take a couple of minutes now. About a month ago we had to start sending people to the overflow hotel as we had run out of rooms here at the Hilton Garden Inn. Wednesday and Thursday were open for everybody to hang out and/or go downtown. Yesterday was the big day. Buses left the hotel at 0810 hours(five minutes ahead of schedule) to go to Ft. Benning. We had to wait behind three trucks to get on post so we arrived at the Airborne Walk right at 0900(I don't think the students about to graduate minded a great deal). After we got everybody in the stands the Silver Wings did a demo jump with all landing right next to the track behind the Airborne Walk. Afterwards the company commander spoke and then the guest speaker, a retired CSM Everett whose son was graduating. After family members pinned the wings on the second and third generation Troopers(including one being pinned by his grandfather who was in the 506th in WWII), our veterans and other guests went out to pin wings on the new students. After that we loaded the buses and moved out to Utchee Creek for lunch. The caterer was a few minutes late but everyone was able to eat lunch before getting back on the buses. Then it was down the road to Fryar DZ to watch the 1-509th jump in. After jumping they moved to a rally point just behind the trees from the bleachers to turn in chutes and form. Then they marched out in formation and mingled with the veterans. After about thirty minutes it was back on the buses to the hotel and the hospitality room. It was a little overcast and the heat was not too bad. We took coolers on the buses with water so we were able to keep everyone hydrated. The Officers and NCOs of the 1-507th were a great help and worked with us all of the way.
