I step out yeterday onto Malimute, what a nice view it has, but frozen ground and 6" of snow might as well jumped onto tarmac

Like I said, It has been a while. I remember alot about that place, and I think my post makes it clear that they are fond memories but neither Aesop's rule or GABC ring a bell. (I am familiar with Aesop's fables.)

How has the snowfall been this year? When I left in Ddec of '91 we had already had 100 inches. The first snow fall was in Oct with 3 feet. The state just wouldn't be the same without the white stuff.

Aesop's Rule:  A pesimist would say the glass is half empty.  An optimist would say the glass is half full.  An Alaskan would look at the glass and order another round.

GABC- You must have lived a shelter life for a paratrooper.  Great Alaskan Bush Company.

OMG. I must know you Sean.  I Definitely know every bit of these stories. I came to Charlie Airborne (soon afterwards C 1/501st). 1SG Williams was First Sergeant. I remember CPT Eisenhower. I joined this site to find SFC Frank Moneymaker.  So many stories.  I remember my first big jump was as jumpmaster on big FTX on Malemute. The akio's were blown into the trees.  It was cold as @*#&@). I couldn't believe it could get so cold.  Even though it was so cold I have NEVER seen Northern Lights like that night. Amazing.  Plus the second sortie of jumpers were dropping in front of them making a beautiful silhouette. Awesome.

So many stories.  I have done a lot before I got to Alaska. I did more after leaving.  I think I have more stories from those 3 years than any other 3 year span in my life.

Mike, welcome to the site but you are a no-go at the inprocessing station.  You need to fill out the bio in your profile and go to the new personnel reporting forum and open a new topic to introduce yourself to the members.  Hooah?
