reagantrooper (3/4/2008) American GIs have always adopted puppies in all theaters of War. So I wonder why this GI would do such a thing? Is it a flaw in his character or something lesser that he deeply regrets now. If he regrets it I bet he will never forget it and I am sure his Brothers wont forget it either.rt, the explanation for this POS is that he's from the PlayStation Generation; yes there are many good people in it, but this asshole sure makes you wonder.
I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.

| I always knew them video games was bad. If it was real, punish him. If it was fake, send him to sensitivity training. Just kidding. Even if fake there is a failure to understand what is appropriate for public consumption. A sense of humor for one is different than for others. I hope it was fake and this guy steps forward and takes the heat like a man and straightens it out the best he can. I certainly hope it was faked.
The hippo is unpredictable and aggressive with old scars and fresh, deep wounds providing signs of daily fights that are accompanied by much bellowing, neighing and snorting.

Is this such a huge atrocity? No. What sucks is that A) somebody filmed it and B) they let the film go public. Why is some fvcking dog's life so valuable? Because everyone thinks it is cute and therefore it's life is more valuable than something non-cute. I bet if it was some pissed-off badger trying to bite his arm off, no one would care. Or what about a gila monster or tarantula? Do you know how many dogs the military shoots around FOBs in Iraq for disease control reasons? It's a bunch. But they are old, un-cute dogs, so screw 'em. The only lesson here is "DON'T FILM THIS KIND OF THING!" I give a rat's about some stupid dog, but this Marine will probably lose his career.

This would be as disturbing if I had heard it, seeing it just made it worse. There was no point, no honor, it was useless cruelty and death in a time where there if far too much of both. Do you think that a person just flips a switch and becomes a compassionless uncaring monster? No... it happens in little bits as we shred our sense of right and wrong. If you apply the same rationalle, is it that much of leap to people? One kid, cute yeah but hey, what does it matter. If he were an ugly enemy combatant... but hey, screw it its just some stupid kid. That marine has stepped over a line, had the dog been diseased then humanely putting it down would have been acceptable, but I dont think throwing it is acceptable to anyone here. I think if you've accepted this kind of behavior, you've found the wrong website.

This is a huge problem mostly because of how much this video stained the good name of the Marine Corps in time of War. But in addition - Hell yeah, it's an atrocity! If you don't think killing helpless creatures for pure cruelty isn't an atrocity - Well, I guess I can't convince you. 1chumley, Dude - All the "What if's" you put in your post are just freakin' ridiculous - Bottom line. It wasn't a badger or a gila monster or a tarantula. It was a puppy. What this situation is to me, is this - A potential INDICATOR of how little this (apparent) Marine values life in one of it's most helpless forms. In MY unsolicited opinion - People who kill and/or otherwise harm defenseless creatures should be subject to the same actions they carry out on their victims. If the video was REAL, that effin EFF has no effin' conscience and I don't want him over there with a weapon, representing MY country. Also if it was REAL - I'm disappointed in his buddies for not giving him an immediate beat-down.

Do I really think that a puppy getting chucked off a cliff is reason to end anyone's military career? No. They should not have filmed it. That marine will pay for that incident his whole life, I promise you. The only crime is that someone filmed it. Stupid. I don't care about dogs, only servicemen.
