rangeroffspr (5/27/2008) Anyone doubted?
Yes, I'm afraid so.Massive injuries, possable stroke, two months+ in a coma--you bet I had them.I hate being a pessimist, but it sure feels great when I'm wrong !!! Best news I've heard in some time. That is the one good thing of being a pessimist, the joy of being wrong in a case like this.
Sorry for not offering prayers, but there is a small crisis of faith here. But that is better left some place else.

| Update, I visited Mark at South Fulton Hospital Wednesday evening for about 2 hours and he was in good spirits! It is amazing how far he has come since the last time I saw him on a vent and tilt-a-whirl bed at Grady. I was worried that he might not be the same Mark I knew from before because of his injuries but I'm glad to say he is amazingly alert and very determined to get back on his feet. He has some short term memory loss and time/perception issues but considering the brain is just an organic computer and his was tossed around pretty violently, his hard drive crashed so to speak and has been idle for almost 3 months it's no wonder that his mind is trying to reboot. Mark is a tremendous fighter and it almost brought tears to my eyes to see how hard he has fought back from this accident. He is totally convinced that the Big Ranger in the Sky is totally responsible for his survival and recuperation and he is appreciative. I offered to bring my laptop up "when" he is ready, right now his brain can't process everything and having that much stimulation might actually be too much for him. He has his Crackberry so he can take text messages and such and he and his Mom asked me to print out this thread to give him some idea of the support he has had and help him with continuity over the past few months. He was thrilled with his Coin from Gen. Pretaeus and he agreed with Don Lassen's decision to make his Chapter Secretary position a non-jumping assignment! He got to see his kids last weekend and that more than anything I think is what has motivated him and given him the drive to recover! Thank all of you for your prayers, thoughts, kind words and support. His Mom is very impressed with the Brotherhood of the Silk ( and Sisters too!) and all the things his visitors have left for him. Barry (509) got the 82nd Chorus to autograph their latest CD and he left it for Mark and it was downloaded on his MP3 player with the exception his mother said of "that" one song. When she said that I had to grin to myself as I tried to explain the "black humor" that goes along with a dangerous profession...Mark just looked up and said "Blood on the Risers, that song?" His mother looked shocked and Mark and I just looked at each other with a knowing smile. Mark will log on when he feels up to it to give us a in-person status report but until then keep the prayers coming and I will definetly thank Sky6 for seeing our Brother through this ordeal. If anything Mark seems even stronger spiritually than before the accident, personally knowing what Mark has been through this last year with his personal life I am amazed at how positive and how strong his faith has become. Sorry this was so long but I felt ya'll deserved a detailed AAR for your support and prayers!
Stand in the door!

| I'm looking forward to meeting this Paratrooper (2009 AAW maybe?) who has this much support from the community. Had to LOL at Blood on the Risers. Adding him to my prayers. AATW.

Just great to hear. Thanks for the update. As a sidenote of encouragement, this is the kind of thing that should reinvigorate faith.
The hippo is unpredictable and aggressive with old scars and fresh, deep wounds providing signs of daily fights that are accompanied by much bellowing, neighing and snorting.
