Greetings Guys!

Here's another update...

I just spoke with Pam, one of the folks from Mark's office who has been doing a fabulous job of looking after things for Mark and his visiting family, and she indicates that he is now doing more breathing on his own than the machine is doing for him - which is a very good sign. They are hoping to pull him off of the breathing machine in the not-too-distant future as I understand it.

Mark's swelling is down and he looks a lot better, but he is still heavily sedated and not too aware of things around him as much as anyone can tell - although they believe he is somewhat aware if only just a little.

The good news is that they are much more positive about a recovery now since he is not in the same level of critical condition that he had been in. They still do believe that a stroke may have been involved but have not been able to confirm that. Neither have they yet been able to do an MRI to gather further evidence of anything.

If they can get him off of some of the machinery they want to move him to rehab as I understand it - although I'm not sure what all that might actually mean at this point.

I thank you all for your prayers and I know that Mark's family does as well. I look forward to that time when Mark will be able to personally thank each of you! It's very clear to me why he hangs out here with you guys.

Blessings,

Hutch

The hippo is unpredictable and aggressive with old scars and fresh, deep wounds providing signs of daily fights that are accompanied by much bellowing, neighing and snorting.

You know what? It's time for some damned positivity.

He's NOT going to quit, and he's NOT going to get worse. He's a by-God Airborne freaking (edited for your viewing pleasure) Ranger, and he's a brother.

He has no choice but to get well, or I'll hunt his ass down and make him do it.

That's final.

Well that would do it for ME.

Continuing to work the prayer beads.....

Hutch, your update was helpful about Mark's progress.  He continues to be in my prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.
