It was rather cool.

All the people going in and out of the rest stop were clearly giving the group a wide birth.  Most probably due to the motorcycles being revved up, the colors on the jackets, and the fact that they looked like a bunch of mean dudes.  Even my family was avoiding them.  I rode when I got out of the service, so I was looking and admiring the bikes.  I noticed the wings on the back of the jacket of one of the riders.

I walked right in to the middle of the pack once I saw that they all had wings.

These guys are now staring at me, and I say "I see you guys still have your knees in the breeze".

I mentioned that I was with the 82nd and rode for a while when I got out.  We spoke for about 5-10 minutes.  My family comes over (now that they know it was safe), and joined in the conversation.

After we left I said to my wife, "see, they are just like me".

Her reply, "Ted, Nobody is like you".  So true......

All the way, sir!!!

Thanks for the welcome guys.  Any oldtimes out there, from the Charlie Airborne at Fort Richardson, from 71 or 72, can't even remember the yr, gotta dig out my jump book, that remember the Canadian 2nd Airborne Commando?? Had a real bad drop there, low ceiling, blown panals, didn't have time to deploy my reserve, fun stuff.
