| All, FNG here. I did something sort of stupid while in jump school. While it was my best training experience in the Army (I went after four years of being enlisted), so I thought it was a vacation (pizzaria, beer, run, pullups, too much fun). Anyway, I got hurt really bad on the night jump with CE. I laid there for about 10 minutes until someone noticed, then I shook it off and proceeded to graduation without looking back or stopping for any medical treatment. I've been paying for it for the last 16 years, short story, I compressed L4,L5, S1, both knees are rough, right hip is bad, right shoulder is bad and I broke the right side of my jaw (which I didn't know until 2 years ago when I had to have surgery to get it fixed to releive migraines). Anyway, I just filed a claim with the VA as things keep getting worse, I have good civillian insurance (so far, so good), but I wanted to protect myself and my family for the future. My service record have been lost by the Army/VA, both are pointing fingers at each other, my rep is hoping that filing the claim will force them to find them. However, my medical records will only have a few things about the jaw and knees, not the back or hip. Has anyone here been as dumb/stubborn as I am with refusing to acknowledge that they really got hurt and when you did, what did you do about? Thanks, Dave

I turned down a PH for a stupid little minor wound and now I wish I had it to shove in VAs face everytime they give me some kind of crap. Probably woudln't make too much diff anyway.

The hippo is unpredictable and aggressive with old scars and fresh, deep wounds providing signs of daily fights that are accompanied by much bellowing, neighing and snorting.

I tore up my right shoulder rotator cup in the service. To this day, it pops out of joint if I am not careful. Never put a claim in (over 40 years). So, I tough out the pain and am careful with any sudden movements of the arm.
All the way, sir!!!

Acording to you you have lurked around for a while still you dont post a intro or anything in your bio!! We saved 5jumpchump for you! My thoughts exactly, RT. And we were not heroes, we were just working Paratroopers(no offense).
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
