Hey I missed this thread but it was great reading back through it. Congrats to your daughter on her acievements so far and I know she'll make it on through Rigger School.

Dfiremann (5/25/2008) wtf, riggers know how to sew?Of course we know how to sew, I could sew the sleeves of BDUs together . When the detail would steal our hats we would take thier berets, get them wet, roll them up in lots and lots of 100mph tape and throw them in the freezer. Youd be surprised how small you can get a beret.

| Thanks Skypilot. It has sure been trying on her and I. She has questioned herself multiple times and she has got through it. I must say I was a little nervous during her Airborne training and waited by the phone during jump week. Maybe someday she can go back and be a Sgt. Airborne. I really enjoy this site and thanks for for all of the support. Thanks Again Mike

| I've been following this posting closely. My daughter is taking the ASVAB at this moment and her oath is next week (92R). I have never been in the military and I'm not sure what to expect for her. She will go to basic training in September. Any specific recommendations for her as far as physical training? She has two months to "catch up" to where men are naturally. lol 4 miles in 36 minutes and what else? pull ups, push ups, etc? I know she would be very disappointed if she did not qualify due to physical ability and she would hate life if she didn't do what the men are required to do. BTW - best wishes for your daughter!!

| Nancy, I would encourage her to get to 5 miles in 40 minutes. That should give her enough slop room for the 5 mile grinder at the BAC. The pre-execution checklist requires a recorded a 5 mile run for record prior to reporting. The maximum allowed time is 45 minutes. Get her to 40.

FYI. The rigger field has more females in it then people realize. Having said that, there wont be that many females in most of the rigger companies. The standard in the companies I was in were about 3-4 per company, not including officers, warrants, and senior NCO's.
