Dont know how you got a three fall and still grad but maybe they had 'connections'

That was the standard in Class 47-87 too. I assume she had some 'connections' too.

And Riggergal...I'm sure you did work your ass off to graduate. I'm not trying to start WWIII here, I am just stating what happened in my class

I will be the first one to tell you that if my daughter falls out of any of the runs she doesn't deserve to be there. She says her body is beat up form all of the landing from the 34' tower because she was having trouble getting it right. She is looking forward to the formation run tomorrow. She does not expect to get a break because she is a female. She knows that some of the SGT Airbornes continue to have a negative towards females even though they have to be Airborne qualified as part of their job.

I think there will always be some negativity towards females at airborne school......I went through 20 years ago and it was there.  The negativity that the black hats or other troopers had towards me just motivated me even more.  You tell your daughter that she needs to stay motivated and that she deserves to be there just like everyone else.  Tell your daughter good luck from me.  Please keep us updated on her progress.

To me, it is all about the effort.

I understand it may not be "fair" that women might have to try a little harder.  But my experience is that they earn that much more respect when they do succeed.  I have met some shit-hot jumpmasters in my time that were women.

But I also remember the women at airborne school who could not do a single pull up.  Nor did they care to try.  Wanting to hide behind a second standard.  To me that sets ALL women back in this situation.

As long as your daughter charges in full bore and refuses to quit, she will be fine.

Alright, she is through tower week but she didn't get to jump off the 250' tower, the weather got bad. She was disappointed but she is still excited about it all. She did meet all the requirements during tower week, you all would know more about that than I do. Still no fallouts during the run. Myself I would have liked a chance at the 250' tower before the actual jump but I have never done it and I up there in age.

Congrats to your daughter.  Now, all her training will come into play during jump week.  Too bad about the 250 ft tower.  That was the highlight of tower week for me!!!!  Keep us updated during jump week.

Don't sweat the 250', I never jumped it due to winds and there are two camps on the big towers.

1. You get a good chance to get 1 on 1 instruction during an actual landing

2. You go from 34' to 1350' and do it like a paratrooper... YOU JUST DO IT.

Personally... I like 2 but I am biased. LOL

I had a female who had to have just barely made the height requirement, who was one number ahead of me in jump school. She was a great motivator for me, because there was absolutely no way I was going to let her beat me.

Any news, Mike?
