It's been awhile since I have posted and my daughter started training at Ft. Benning yesterday and she was training on the 34' tower today. I am now able to answer some of my own questions. They now have a course at Ft. Jackson the Airborne Orientation Course just to prepare the 92R for the BAC and the length varies anywhere from 1 to 9 weeks. They have to be able to meet the BAC PT standards which are 60s in each event, they only need 50s to graduate BCT. They also have to complete a 4 mile run is less than 36 minutes also a BAC requirement. Even with this course in place my daughter said that 13 of the 40 soldiers that arrived with her on Friday failed the PT Test yesterday and will have to re-class. Once again thanks for all of the information. I know she still has a long way to go but at least she has started and she is motivated.

A belated welcome to the site.  I'm afraid I missed this topic when you first posted.  First, congrats to your daughter and good luck at BAC.  Just tell her to never quit.  Second, I will disagree with some of my peers here a little(I know you're all shocked ).

The chances of your daughter getting stationed at Bragg are probably no more than 50/50.  With Airborne brigades in Vicenza and Ft. Richardson, SF Groups at Ft. Campbell, Ft. Lewis and Ft. Carson, Ranger units at Ft. Benning, Hunter AAF and Ft. Lewis, and the 1-509th at Ft. Polk(and these aren't the only posts with riggers) there are probably as many or more riggers stationed outside of North Carolina as there are on Ft. Bragg.  Since Ft. Bragg has the largest concentration of riggers there is a better chance she will go there over any of the other single assignments I mentioned, right now there are a lot of assignments she could end up at.

Welcome to the DZ, and thank you for your Service and that of your Daughter!!

Now lose the Apology in your Signature, you have nothing to be sorry for!! You did your time, you did your job, and that is damned good enough for me!!
We may be pretty tight with the spirit of the Airborne here, but not one of us looks down on anyone elses Service because they did not jump fro a perfectly "good" Airplane....

Hmm on second thought, apology accepted for the Air Force portion of your Service.

I am probably going to catch hell from a couple of our Zoomie brothers for that though..

It's been a long time since I was in school at Ft Benning, but I do remember that failing out of a cycle was not the end of the world. I was offered a chance (many chances!) to re-cycle and try again. There is even a special PT training cycle that was offered as a last resort. I don't know if those policies are still in place, this was in the early 1990s. Good luck to your daughter, it's good to see women doing it just like the men!

We had a female First LT. go thru with me. She fell out of 3 regular runs and somehow fell out of the Battalion Run, and marched the track and graduated with me.

I'm SURE if I fell out of ONE run, I would have been out. So much for quotas....

Giving the girls more chances might have had to do with quotas, but I WORKED MY ASS OFF to graduate thank you very much.

1988 standard was 2 fallouts and youre out... but if you fell out of ONE the blackhats were on you like ugly on a gorilla and those who were watched had to do 120%. Dont know how you got a three fall and still grad but maybe they had 'connections'
