When I hit the link the primary story showing was about veterans' cremated remains that were sitting around in storage.
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

| http://www.miap.us/ This is the link to the main site for this group. I heard about it next door and contacted my state (Michigan) guy and am waiting on him to hook me up. I did try to contact two others on my state list with no success so there must be some inaction at this time (winter?) but if there are veteran's remains laying around in funeral homes I hope to be able to something about it.

Thats unbelievable, national legislation to ensure that all remains unclaimed of veterans are buried at the government expense with the honor due to them.

Well I'm not too impressed yet with the organization after this email I received but that is actually neither here nor there. After all we should have gotten used to disorganization and snafus in the service and learned how to overcome. At any rate, if anyone else is interested this is an idea of what we will be doing to resolve this problem. John, You can go to our website www.miap.us and get some info on what we are about and all you have to do is go to the funeral homes and find out if they have cremains that have not been claimed. If they know weather or not they are any veterans if not we will have to get their names and social number and run them through the VA to find out. Right now I am trying to get some laws changed to make it easier for the funeral home to release them for burial. Keep track of who you talk to and the funeral home name and address and how many cremains they have and when you get that info I will get you into the database so you can enter it. I have some people in detroit but noone has done anything so there is no chance of hitting a home twice unfortunatly. You can call me if you like if I can be of any assistance we are insured so any info you get from a home is protected. I look forward to working with you and let me know what you need
