Hello I am looking for anyone that might have known Edgar L Hudson.  He is my grandfather.  He was from West Virginia.  He was in the 82nd airborne and part of the france liberation force.  I think he was in the 1st batalion i am not sure (will have to ask him again).

He doesn't talk about it much but if i could get some confirmation on some things i would appreciate it.  I have tried searching for hours and cannot find any site that lists the members of the 82 paratrooper units.

thanks for your help.

For the most part you wont, and without the actual unit within the 82nd that he served within it will be even more of a challenge.

See if you can get a little more detail out of him like what years, what was his job, which unit, was he paratrooper or glidermen or replacement attached to the 82nd

More information will help us get it narrowed down.

The fact that you know it is the first battalion would point toward one of the infantry units in the 82nd, but there were five different infantry regiments assigned to the 82nd during the war.  Knowing which one would allow us to provide some more information.  But understand, WWII vets don't spend a lot of time on the internet and we don't have any on this board that I am aware of.  You can find out a good bit of information about his unit and the campaigns he was in, but are highly unlikely to find anyone that served with him.  I do wish you good luck and if you find out more info on him will be happy to help out how I can.
