| http://www.nilesstar.com/articles/2008/01/19/news/ndnews1.txt While the details have not been fully released, The armed security guard is an IOF veteran who just recently returned, the two bandits pulled a Hollywood style robbery "jumping up on the bank counters and demanding everyone get down." The OIF Veteran pulled his weapon and opened fired on the robbers hitting both. Look for more details on Monday. More actions like this mean less robbers!

BWA-HAH-HAH! Well... one target died and the other is still at large with a third suspect (probably the driver) but... it's only a matter of time before the police catch them. Kudos to the veteran who stood his ground and delivered accurate fires on hostile targets. Perhaps bank robberys in the area will decline a bit now that a man has stood his ground against criminal aggression.

Good shooting. It was nice of them to jump up high to give him a clear shot.

| While it is good to see an armed guard taking care of biz, the unfortunately side effect is that so many other armed security are so poorly trained or recertified that actions like this make the potential criminal consider hurting or killing the security guard part of the initial entry. The effect is that other not so well trained individuals will be in the cross hairs first thing when the action starts. I never did understand why having armed guards on the floor is a good idea these days? Why not put guard(s) in a adjacent room with multiple points of ingress/egress into the main bank area. Hell, put in gun slits in the walls and let armed security work from cover.

I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.

From what I understand he was not working at the bank, just happened to be there to cash a check. This information is incorrect: The guard was employed by Seven Trees Security and was working at the CU the time of the robbery. They know who the other suspect is who was shot. He wasn't just tagged, so if he doesn't get professional attention soon....
