I'd place a beer bet on the announcement being made on 14 Jun. Don't they usually like making these things on the army's birthday?

No.  The Army officially changed the headgear to the black beret, but the announcement was made eight or nine months prior to that.  Of course, that doesn't mean they won't do it this time.

Barry I have'nt  heard a word on the class A's,but I heard that the ACU's are on the way out.

The Army already has the next combat/field uniform picked out.  It is the multicam.  However, this is not due to be adopted until the FCS or whatever they call it now, and that is a few years away.

I'm hoping that was joke. With all the money the Army has spent changing everything from IOTV patterns to E-Tool holders, I think it would be a mistake to change off of ACU's already. Yes, it has some problems, but talk about throwing away money.

No doo-doo I have spent lots of bucks on ACU pattern accessories from mag pouches to notebooks, and I still have the DCU and tan stuff as well. I don't want to have to buy matching duckhunter multi-cam as well...jeez!

What?  I hadn't heard this about the ACU.  What's the problem with it?

Is this the "multicam" design you guys are talking about:

Because if so it looks a lot like the German "Flectar" pattern camo.  It also looks way too "green" for the desert.  What is it that they don't like about the Army's digital camo pattern?

Martin, that is the multicam.  I have seen photos of Soldiers wearing it, but it all related to the future combat system/future warrior that the Army is working on.  To my knowledge there is no plans to replace the ACU any tme in the immediate future.

Oh oh. I see a pattern here......

First the Air Force has the new motto, "Above All", or in the close German translation "Uber Alles".

NOW we're talking about flectarn pattern cammies???

What's next? The goose step replacing regular marching?????

Hardee-har-har, next time instead of throwing myself on the Yeti to save my Brothers I'll just grab you and smother it/her with your body...Buddy!

Yeah not real crazy about that pattern, besides looking like a copy of WWII Wermacht camou, it most remind me of somthing a fingerpaint artist might do...after throwing up on it.
