According to the 10 day forecast weather.com there is a 30% chance of rain with scattered thunderstorms for Ft. Benning next Thursday.

It never rains in the Airborne only on the Airborne, lol, hopefully those showers will be short duration if they even occur.

Stand in the door!

Airborne events start Thursday

The Airborne Awards ceremony is not so much about the history of the airborne community as it is about the future, said Don Lassen, the World War II veteran who heads up the annual event.

“It’s a Family thing. You see generations of airborne (at the ceremony), because airborne is a Family tradition,” Lassen said. “You see second generation airborne Soldiers who are bringing their children, because they want their kids to grow up airborne.”

Okay, the forecast for Thursday is a high of 85 with a 20% chance of rain.  The 509th Man of the Year is pretty close to deaf so I may be doing some escort duties Thursday and part of Friday.  Any of you that plan on attending the Vulcan Chapter officer installation Saturday's forecast only shows a 20% chance of rain for the drive.  BTW, the dress is casual and anyone that wants to can ride with me.  Departure time will be 1000 hours from the parking lot of the Marriott.

I will of course be happy to attend your installation.
