Looking at the schedule in the most recent static line.. no mention of the range... did this get discontinued due to the new battle monument ground breaking?

BTW. That new monument... seems wierd that it skips Gulf War 1 but I guess when you walk over top of an enemy without any real significant kickback, you dont get the big stone.

Mark, I would have to dig out the last issue but I think it did say that Red Cloud Range is on the agenda.  But you may have hit the nail on the head.  With the new addition the range could be out, although I wouldn't think a ground breaking ceremony would take that long.

Like the Army they are defining Airborne as parachute and/or glider(can't recall there being just a glider drop), and it must have been a battalion size element or larger.  Gulf War 1 had no such invasion so it wasn't included.  Also, jumps by OSS and Special Forces teams are not included because the actual units involved are too small, as is the jump in Tunisia by a platoon of the 2-509th.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Mark,

The last issue of Static Line dated January 2008, which I received February 22, 2008, does NOT list the free firing demonstration, as did the previous issue.  Instead it lists Battle Monuments Groundbreaking.

Apparently, the trip to Red Cloud Range is not in the plans.

For anybody who hasn't registered time is getting short.  You need to take care of this ASAP if you plan on attending.

Hey gang... I'll be there so if you're thinking about it and want to touch base, then get in on this and meet us all there.

I got my reciept from Don for myself and my son... everything is in place.

Had our finale Chapter palnning meeting for the Airborne Awards...looks like 10 kegs of beer, cases of wine and liquor and of course plenty of soft drinks. I've got lots of snacks being brought in for the hospitality suite as well looks like we will have plenty of good stuff for thirsty Paratroopers! Look forward to seeing the gang, now has anyone seen any female Yeti's on the loose? We might even get some tag-team wrasslin with Big Al added to the schedule, lol.

Stand in the door!
