| Well the good news is, he made it through surgery. He may never have any use of the hand, but it is still there. He is on big time denial trip right now, but hopefully he will get over that and start accepting the fact he needs help. If he doesn't, I do not see him living to see another Birthday. Going to give him a kick in the ass later. But not too hard (yet).

| Difficult times for sure. You and your family will be in our prayers as well. If you can, put a Bible in his lap. No words other than "Read this, and if you need me, I am here". The rest, he has to sort out and make the first step. Ted
All the way, sir!!!

| Sorry for not seeing this earlier AC but definately count the prayers of my household in with those already offered or made. I hope he gets things sorted out and makes something worthwhile come of this.

Going to give him a kick in the ass later. But not too hard (yet). One of the hardest things we have to watch as parents is when our children falter. I'm glad to hear that he made it through the surgery. I know the worst vice is advice, but you may try this if you want to: if you really don't see him making it to his next birthday unless he does a significant amount of changing, tell him so and sit him down with the Yellow Pages and help him to plan his funeral. Include who he wants as his pallbearers, to read his eulogy and what he wants said when he's not around any longer. I've gone so far at times to let them pick out what type of headstone suits them and what they want engraved on it. This may sound cruel, but it is often the wake-up call youngins' need to realize they are on a road straight to the Reaper. I've had a lot of success using this with those who have hit rock bottom. Anyway... good luck.

| Prayer's still going out to heal his hand and his head. And to heal the pain that must be in yours and his family's hearts.

I want to thank you all again. I knew right away where I could go for the strenght and support I needed. I have had my own dealings with kicking some bad habits, and have had to deal with a friends suicide attempt in the past due to alchohol and drug abuse. I know a lot of the pain my god Son is going through, I can not comprehend doing what he did. That does not matter though. He did it, he was in enough pain to do it, and now it is time to try and help him heal. I also know, that it is completely up to him wether he does or not. Except for the Grace of God, there go I.
