At 0430 today local police found my 21 year old God Son lying in the middle of the road. He attemtped to kill himself after injesting unkown quanaties or type of drugs/alchohol. His right hand was almost completely cut off, with one major artery severed, as well as the tendons and nerves.
At this time he has been in surgery since 10:00, and will not be out until maybe 7:00 tonight.
He has had a lot issues throughout his short life, and he unfortunately complicated those with drugs and alchohol. I am freaking devestaded right now.... Despite all his issues, there is a good person in there. I am sitting here just remembering holding him as a new born... the first new born I had ever held. I tried so hard to guide him when I could, to just listen....

Sorry to hear about your ordeal. Your son sounds like he was in a lot of pain and maybe wasn't in the right mind to tell someone about it in a rational way. My prayers are with you and, being a mental health professional, you are welcome to bend my ear about legitimate treatment options as well. Good luck and God's speed

Thanks all. I have no new news at the present time. The prognosis is not good regarding his hand, only time will tell for sure. That is the least of his worries though.. That kid has a long road ahead of him.
