We'll see how funny the divorce papers are in a few weeks.  Not saying there should have been any professional courtesy going on here, just saying the this is going to get even more embarrassing when she looses her job, he looses the house and kids, he looses 30%+ more of his gross salary to child support.... yeah too funny like a tragic comedy.

The problem is that it would never be an issue of professional courtesy, if he had let her go it would have been conflict of interest and then they would both be unemployed!   Personally I think he did just what he needed to do.  He got an outside agency to come and take it over and make the determination.

Well IMO this officer did the right thing.

First off if he pulled her over and he suspected she was intoxicated he should have done the BA then. If he was and she fled the scene, even worse.

What is not clear is if she left the first time and was later pulled over by him again even worse for her.

Bottom-line. If she was drunk he got here off the street before she might have hurt someone.

I also don't agree that she will lose her job. I know several officers that have received DUIs and are still employed. I work with a guy who is a reserve sheriff and was just convicted of vehicular manslauter (he ran a stop and t-bones a car, killing the driver). He did not get jail time and is still employed.

If they're heading for divorce court he's got a shot at a big win. My kids just SAID that their mother drank and drove a car in the past and she was crucified by the court evaluation team.

Your kids got to TALK to the court?  Wow, you must be from a civilized county or state in the union.  We here live in Georgia.   Women get the kids automatically unless mommy is a pychopathic metho/crack ladie of the night who has an arrest record.  "Cause a man ain't got no business raisin no youngin's.  Thad'd be women's work!"
