| Ok, here goes. The church that my wife and I attend has been pushing to DO things rather than just gather together once a week. In the last few years things went together and they have just started to go to Haiti to help in the Southern Penninsula (Marfrac). Today they mentioned that they only had 4 of the 8 slots filled with volunteers. This part of the trip is all about a beginning, dig and lay the base foundation to create a secondary (middle) school there. I think the tough part for people is that this trip is all about the heavy lifting and while some would come out of the comfort zone, I wonder if the hard work that accompanies the trip is what is holding some back. Ever since having my own eyes openned during the Gulf War to what life is like outside the United States I have tried to let people know that what they see on TV is no substitute for experience. To this end I have a challenge, I have the will to volunteer for the mission, but not the funds. If you've been around a while you'll know that here at the Rigger household we run things pretty much paycheck to paycheck and do what we can with this site and our involvement in the 82nd Association (which are very important to me). I have decided to put this out to the group of people I trust the most and see where He (Sky-6) wants me. If I am to go, I have to raise a total of about 1300, with 700 by the end of the month. Its short notice but after hearing about the lack of volunteers I figure any effort is better than none. The information is here for anyone interested in sponsoring this trip. If its His will that I should be there then it is my belief that it will fall into place. If He feels I am not needed there then maybe I am to do something sometime later. Since starting this site and then taking action in the 82nd Association I have been trying to do things that are bigger than me. To do something that pulls you out of your comfort zone that might do something for someone other than myself. This site has brought together people I wouldnt have ever imagined. It has created new friends and rekindled old ones. This site has outgrown me 1000 fold and Im thankful that it happened. So I leave this here, consider it as an individual, you can be anonymous or fire it up here, your choice. Thank you

| Good news, at church last Sunday I guess at least one more person volunteered to go and is all set. I was feeling pretty bad thinking thinking that maybe the idea of helping people sounds good until you have to put your back into it. Regardless, I talked about taking my son down there on some future trip and it sounds like the pastor has been discussing a trip involving teens next year. By then my son will be 12 and I think it would be the perfect opportunity to show him that the world isnt his little piece. Thanks everyone who emailed or IM'd me about the trip and I appreciate everyone taking the time to inquire, didnt mean to make it look like I was out here trying to guilt people into helping on the trip but nothing is gained if you never try. Thanks
