| Dear HH6's, para-daddys and friends, As you may know, the Blue Falcon Family is expecting our first child in February. Any advice or guidance on what crib to buy, what child seat to avoid, which college fund to start, what brand of diaper to look at, what breast pump rocks, how to deal with mood swings (hers and mine) and/or anything else that comes to mind would be greatly appreciated. I have waited for this moment for a long time now, and in true paratrooper fashion I do NOT want to do this most important job I will ever have (being a father) half-assed... Thanks...
Do you listen to yourself when you talk; or do you just fade in and out?

| You have already made the right steps so far and the book I recommended helped out a few of my friends. I will see what my sister says about the others as with twins she really did her research. Also, join www.babycenter.com. It is a great source of information for daddy and mommy. what to expect, when to expect it. They also send out great emails on products, etc. They sent me a free year long subscription to Parents magazine as well. They have chat rooms, etc for you to ask questions about stuff. I found it a great source of information as well as others I know.

| If you are having a boy you should look into getting this book http://www.amazon.com/Dangerous-Book-Boys-Conn-Iggulden/dp/0061243582?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179331381&sr=8-1
When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by The Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of Empire building by George Bush. He answered by saying that, “Over the years, the United States has sent Many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom Beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in Return is enough to bury those that did not return.” It became very quiet in the room.

Just do your best to help mom out. She will not want to ever let the baby down. Make sure she gets enough rest, and this will sound stupid, and make sure she gets enough bathroom breaks. Moms tend to put off everything for the sake of their child and will eventually either take junior to the crapper with them or end up with a severely backed up set of pipes.
As far as diapers and wipes go, that's up to junior, as he could have a reaction to certain ones. But don't think you have to go name brand. Shit wipes off just the same with the cheap wipes as it does with the not so cheap ones.
If you are into getting a jogger stroller so you or mom can still exercise, MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE WITH A SWIVVEL FRONT WHEEL. You can use it in place of the standard stroller and you won't have to pop a wheelie every time you turn like you would if you got the non-swivvel variety.
When he/she starts teething, post an update; my wife found the ultimate for teething pain (homeopathic teething tablets).
I lack people-skills.
