| Was looking for warbird pics and came across this guy's album of a P-51, A-10, F-15, and an F-22 flying in tight formation together. Heh... betcha that Mustang is probably full throttle while the Eagle and Raptor are almost at stall speed... http://www.flickr.com/photos/tmwolf/sets/72157594379611604/

| Sorry Steve, you are a couple of hundred miles an hour off on your estimate, but heh, that's understandable! An older P-51A Mustang normally tops out around 370-390 mph without upgrades, and stall speeds for the Raptors and Eagles are close to 150mph... Besides, the ole gal is a pilots plane while the newer birds can practically fly themselves! Nostalgic in that respect I guess. My 81 year old uncle (Carlos) down in Tomball, Tx operates a fully restored stearman on site at the airport he works out of (West Houston International) and once every two or three years I visit. I can usually talk him into taking it up for some real sight seeing if he is in an agreeable mood and not bogged down with training newbees. That bird doesn't have any upgrades, so it a bear to fly; equates to trying to handle a fat chick in a feather bed, kinda!! BTW, that Hellcat in the photos you posted a link to needs a top coat of gray instead of blue to bring her more inline with recognized standards!

man I wish the website that hosted that image wasn't blocked. I love heritage flights and that sounds like a great one.

Pfft.. technicalities SMSB... Still takes some good pilots to hold that formation so close.

| I've got some of my own
I took this one at Seymour Johnson AFB, I still don't think the A-10 and the F-86 belong together but it makes for a cool collection of jets
