I watched the video this morning on the news.  Pretty brutal stuff.  I believe they said it was because she refused to serve him anymore.

What a turd.   What disturbs me even more is the fact that no one intervened.

After listening to some of the reports, I would be apprehensive about stepping in. You have a big drunk off duty officer who was probably armed. If he beat the crap out of a small female, what do you think he do if you tried to stop him. You might get shot. Plus, if you did not know that there were video cameras recording the events, would you do anything knowing that you would probably have to defend yourself against a charge of assaulting an officer.

The irony is that one of the papers in Chicago did a investigative series on police and firefighters who had no business on the job; guess what?? our hero was one of the one's featured in the article!

Old and decrepit or not if I am there and some guy is beating the crap out of a woman then he is going to meet a bar stool real intimately. He might be a cop but I am Airborne and my oath to protect those who need it still holds.

The hippo is unpredictable and aggressive with old scars and fresh, deep wounds providing signs of daily fights that are accompanied by much bellowing, neighing and snorting.

If you were there, you would not have knwn that he was a PO.  Instead, you would have thought that he was a PoS.

I would have grabbed a chair or bottle and attacked.

You can run and you can hide, but you'll only die tired !

Amen...

Actually, according to some interviews, this was a bar that he frequented often. He was known for getting plowed and flashing his badge, letting everybody know that he was "5-0".

Look for more news about the attempted cover up and threatening of witnesses. Chicago PD had originally charged him with Simple Battery, a misdemeanor. The State Attorney General's Office got wind of it and upped the charges to Aggravated Assault, a felony.
