Sham shield! Ha ha!

Hey! Dont be dissin the shield. That thing deflects duty to the closest PFC and bounces responsibility to the nearest Corporal or Sgt perfectly every time.

Oh God... don't remind me. I received a lateral to corporal within weeks of making my Spec4... had to choke my roomie down in a bear pit for the slot but hey, that's how things were done in those days. Being a corporal makes a soldier prime material for every NCO tasking that comes down the pike and I never worked so hard in my life. On the plus side, you are accorded a heck of a lot of respect by everyone so I guess it balances out. Heh... got to say I was surprised how easy life became once I made E-5.

I'd never dis the shield!  Corporal is a cool rank--one of my favorite memories in command was when we went out to the field during an NTC rotation and did a promotion to corporal on a great Soldier.  We did it as a surprise, so he was at first nervous why the CO and 1SG wanted to see him at the same time!

Before my brother became an NCO, he got pissy with me for using the term 'lower enlisted'.  He got over it!

Convention is coming!

Time to start getting a list of troopers who intend to be there so we can factor in how many PNET TABLES we need to requisition!
