That would be me Mark, I'll use the shiny nametag!!!

And Ert, your mind is going. The CSM pressing the Joes pants was Roger Howard. And the one who smoked him after we caught him dissing the CSM was ME!!! Remember how he kept calling me Sergeant Major!? I kinda like that title!!!

Smoked him front of his peers and our HH6s!!!!

Big Al!

Actually, I was referring to the midget medic that was running his pie hole to Strike 6 and his smoke session at the hospitality suite. When CSM Howard lit into him, I just wanted to engage the cloaking device and get out of there before I got sucked into the vortex that was swirling around the young joe.

I think my question of what do you do at the convention has been answered with a little extra information. Sounds like a blast to me....and I can't wait to buy all my Pnet friends a drink.....and I'm not being cheap and talking about the free beer!

Lets hope a few of these other troopers think its equally a great idea. The event is what you make of it, I've been to relatively tame conventions that turned out great just because of the group of us that meet up.

Who remembers us chucking those little plastic paratroopers off the 17th floor from my room down onto the area where the convention personnel were gathered? Oh, and the look on that CSMs face when he was disappointed to learn it wasnt any active joes he could smoke!

LOL! To bad you didn't have a vid of his reaction Mark. Nothing funnier than a person used to having authority discovering it doesn't carry weight.

Case in point... below is more or less what I said to a colonel who was on leave and pontificating pool side at the resort we were at a couple vacations ago. He was annoyed that I, a former enlisted guy, disagreed with him...

"I respect you accomplishments and position of course but that doesn't mean I have to listen to your ridiculous idea without interjecting some commen sense."

Subject was the transformation of the Army... the look on his face was priceless as well... especially when I stated my case as to why the restructure was idiotic. He was a logistics geek and apparently no one had pointed out what was obvious to every combat arms guy concerning loss of a third maneuver element in light brigades. The conversation continued on long past our wive's interest of course.

"The degenerative and loony should never be denigrated but, rather, thanked. In their absence, the rest of you would be obliged to fill congressional seats... positions naturally unsavory to the sane and honorable."

These days I enjoy the fact that our little group is about the age of the senior management of the active division. Its great to spend some time talking to CSMs and Lt Col+ and just chat with them without the rank/politics. Thats what I think THEY enjoy too.. nobody looking to hang them for having an opinion and they dont have to be on the guard for someone in thier own CoC.

We've got some good friends up at the top level and its good to know the Division is in good hands.
