| Barry, I believe it IS Friday that we do the delegates and national meeting but I'll double check past notes and schedules from old paraglides to be sure of my facts. Of course ALL drinking is done respectfully and I dont know anything about the rumors of a girl in a denim skirt in Milwaukee doing keg stands in the DISCOM room. I believe it was just high tea and intellectual talk.

| Thanks everyone for your input. My husband isn't exactly thrilled when I brought up the idea of spending 5 days in Harrisburg....especially when Aug 17 is his b-day. He is non-military and could care less about hanging out with a bunch of paratroopers. Since I'm on the west coast (california), I will have to think a little more about going. Sounds like a lot of fun to me. Maybe I will go without the hubby.....

Besides, if his plan was to celebrate with drinking.. then tell him to come on out and we'll make sure he drinks PLENTY on his birthday. Tell him you'll take him to Chuck E Cheese at lunch on Friday!

| Here's the deal... As a member of the assocaition the national convention is the ONLY time you can directly impact the association. If you attend the General membership meeting then you can vote to put directors up on the board that should represent what you want. We've been pushing hard to get younger fresher ideas on the board and to do it, we need your help. Many members complain about changes needing to be made but seem unwilling to make the time and effort to do something about it. Its one thing to complain, its another thing to do something about it. If you are already a member: - You CAN AND SHOULD attend the delegates meeting (if you're not a delegate for your chapter you cannot speak during the meeting but I would encourage EVERYONE to listen to what goes on there and be available to whisper in your delegates ear) - You CAN AND SHOULD attend the National Directors meeting (again, if you're not on the board, you cant speak during the meeting but this is a great opportunity to see, hear and get a sense of who represents what views on the board). You'll be shocked at the different opinions expressed. - You ABSOLTUELY SHOULD attend the general membership meeting. This is the place where YOU vote and represent EVERYONE else who didnt make it to the meeting. Sadly less than 300 people have been voting to elect board members for 30,000 members. Pathetic I know but if you dont show up to cast your vote and make yourself heard, then you cant bitch when the association doesnt go your way. - You DEFINATELY should take the time and question the people running for National Director.
