...dealing with the undisciplined troops in that course was a pain in the ass.[quote] BWAA-HAH-HAH! I grumbled something similar when I went from active green to part time blue and was in tech school for avionics, however, the fresh out of basic airmen weren't half as annoying to me as the non assertive NCOs... God how frickin' TRUE!!!!! But of course you don't want to hurt no feelings of the young troopies. They might cry and run to their supervisor and then a letter will be sent to your chain of command and you'll be dragged into your Cheifs office and told your "to militant", and that you "have to explain things to these young guys", and wait......was that just me?????

[b]Bell (3/17/2007 Bring it on!!! The door is always open for military brothers. And what do you mean "unlucky enough"? The weather is grand, the senoritas are beautiful, and there's more to see and do in this area than you'll ever find time for. If you ever need a break, from anything, you can come over here and relax or work or whatever. Don't get me wrong, I love Texas, and will stay as long as I can. But Ft Sam is a) a training installation, operations come in 3rd place; and b) a MEDCOM installation, need I say more. I'll PM later this week (HH6 is TDY) and arrange a get together.

| Erv: Considering you posted in March, I assume you already attended training. If you have not, however, be aware that you may be treated like crap (JR alluded to this). I attended 91B AIT at Fort Sam as a sergeant and was smoked right along with the privates. Now, understand that I wasn't averse to pushups (or expecting special treatment), but it was sending the wrong message to the newbies. The message was that a sergeant/E-5 is NOT an NCO. I know this because many of privates actually said this (and I wasn't permitted to smoke them; only verbally correct them). Of course this was in 1993/4, so hopefully that's all changed. I'm still pissed.
