Well, I just raised my right hand for the 3rd time (with a few years break in service). Went into Nat Guard after RA wanted me to give up my kids. What I want to know is I'm going back from 11b1p to 91w medic. What can I expect and how can I better prepare myself to excel in school?

If you have enough time before you report for training, enroll in a EMTI(85 or 99) at a local tech school. The 91W course is practically the same thing. You would be head and shoulders above the rest of your class.

I have a friend who reclassed into 91W. Very intense course, taking the EMT course will help, or you can buy first aid/anatomy books and prep yourself.  Lots of PT too.

Be prepared to have your patience tried - They don't treat proir service guys much better than the NPS bubbas...

I was down there for 91G school last year and dealing with the undisciplined troops in that course was a pain in the ass.

Hopefully the guys in the W course will be better.

BTW- It's officially 68W now - The 91 series MOS' have changed to 68.

No, Whiskey course treat prior service guys as poorly as they treat the newbies.

BWAA-HAH-HAH! I grumbled something similar when I went from active green to part time blue and was in tech school for avionics, however, the fresh out of basic airmen weren't half as annoying to me as the non assertive NCOs...
