| Sometimes you just have to shake your head in amazement... Far as Iran's F-14s go... only a few are still flying and they have been heavily modified to use Russian and Chinese made parts.

I suspect the folks that were responsible for ensuring those birds were suppose to be DEMIL'd properly are gonna want to listen for the proverbial 'knock on the door' from certain officials in the near future....

Pfft... the Tomcat on display at the New England Air Museum was flown in, parked, and de-mill'ed in place by a couple DoD techs a couple years ago. It's still leaking hydraulic fluid and is probably just a week or so of maintenance away from being flyable... sans radar, ECM, radios, ejection seat charges, and ordinance of course... probably lacking it's INU box as well.

Meh... they have pans to catch the dribble and to get close enough, you have to vault a barrier and ignore all the safety signs in a dozen languages so the museum is covered.

Try and find a pilot who would say he would fly the thing even if it were RFI in a week! Those twin turbofans would probably eat themselves in the first 5 seconds IF they ever got to 80 percent! LOL...nice looking bird though!
