| Son called and stated he is being deployed again from Campbell. 3/187. He cannot tell me when, but I need to know as myself and Family want to go see him before he ships. I heard sometime in June. Is this a Definate or just wait and see. Prices are climbing for Travel for 5 from Ca. Any help will be appreciated AIRBORNE

| I check the DOD news release website regularly, which lists the deployment of major combat units and nothing has been released as of yesterday. Keep an eye here, http://www.defenselink.mil/Releases/ and on the Ft. Campbell website. My guess is your son will get the word on when before any public release. Good luck and my prayers will be with him and all of our Soldiers in harms' way.

| Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I appreciate your comment. I went to the DoD address and seen nothing. My Son has been in 6 plus years and is Prior Service. To him everything is a Secret, but he does not understavd that the Family worries and needs to know when he leaves on or about as we have to make flight arrangements and such. I myself was a Nam Vet with 2/327 and 1/505 101st and 82nd in Nam.I know how deploys work. Not to call him a lier, but I don't think hes telling us the truth. I know of two Troopers that are in the 101st, 502nd and 1/187 and they told me they were alerted`for Jun, My Son However says Jun, then April. Then May..WTF Just tell us, Right Oh well, thanks again..and God Bless Al namvet327inf

Unfortunately, the Army is all about hurry up and wait. Those dates will fluctuate. Just remain positive and your boy will tell you what you need to know when you need to know it. It drove me crazy too when my husband did that to me as well.

mazzi (3/10/2007) Unfortunately, the Army is all about hurry up and wait. Those dates will fluctuate. Just remain positive and your boy will tell you what you need to know when you need to know it. It drove me crazy too when my husband did that to me as well. Welcome to Army life. My wife doesn't understand it sometimes, but just takes it as fact cause it's going to happen and she's grown used to it. I was bumped up five days at the last minute for this deployment and completely missed my parents who were coming into town for the Pres' Day four-day. If I can give any advice I'd say to find out best you can when he'll be going and shoot for a week ahead of time and if you get lucky, at the very worst you'll be able to see him off, and spend timewith the grandkids, to boot.
