LOL- I remember walking through the parking lot in front of Jump school and seeing a jeep with the Arctic Paratroopers logo( the same logo from the front of the PT sweatshirt I would learn later) on the tire cover. I turned to one of my buddies and said something to the effect of "Glad I wont be doing that!" Having orders into RIP+ 3/75th. little did I know a few months + a levy I'd learn all too well. To make matters worse The guy I said that too ( and who never let me forget it) also got levied up North- only he went up to C Co 4-9 in Wainwright. So I'm with you cherry- ALaska was the LAST Place I thought I'd end up. Hey Panama we had a dude get transferred up to us - last name of Smith IE we called him "Panama Smith" this was in 87-88 real good guy! At the time I would have given my left nut to get stationed in Panama or any where but Alaska, but looking back I wouldn't change a thing, that was one of if not the best unit I had the privilege to serve with.
I'm not the Killer but the Killerman's son.........

Dev, welcome to the DDZ. I guess being stationed up in the refrigerator, you had to have a very friendly polar bear or eskimo to keep you warm on those frigid nights I'll have my normal Singha w/goose on the side.

| Dev, at least you didn't have the Pineapple Face IE. Manuel Noriega and his minions in the PDF to fvck with; like I had to contend with while I was down there from 87-89' for my tour in Banana Land. I missed the Fun in the Sun, my tour was up on Nov, 30th 89'; so I left there 3 weeks before the Invasion and the only 2 guys to get killed from C co. 1/508th were from the SQD that I just left. Who knows what would have happened if I had been there, to me or them if I had been there; but that's one of those would of could of, should of questions that will remain unanswered forever. Rest in Peace SPCs DeBlois and Coates. Anyways that's my little flashback moment for the morning time for more coffee.. "Fury From The Sky"
I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.

Hello all, sorry it took me so long to find this site. I reported to C co 1/17 back in Dec of 88 and made the first jump with the 1/501 in Oct of 89. I was in 2nd plt. with SFC Edwards and Ssgt Alfarono was my squabble leader. Can I get a big hooah for the Great Alaskan Bush Co.!
