Is there a roster of members of the 17th? Pictures? My Dad was a young Sargent who made the Rhine jump but, never talked much about the war to us even though he remained in the Army for 30 years. I'm trying to do some research and any help would be appreciated.
best, Tim

Welcome Flyboy, hope you find what you're looking for

"...my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me." He added, after a pause, looking me full in the face: "That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave" General "Stonewall" Jackson

| Welcome to the Cyber Drop-Zone where the Rigger is in charge, and the Jumpmaster says when to jump, and YOU get to................STAND IN THE DOOR!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------ Out of every 100 men, ten shouldn't even be there, Eighty are just targets, Nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back." - Hericletus, circa 500 BC -----------------------------------------------------------

| Thanks for asking that question, flyboy--I just joined today, my dad was also in the 17th. He too did not talk much about his experiences, most of what I know I learned in his later years. I will be interested to look at the links that came out of your question. ("is there a roster of the 17th...?") You can see what I wrote about my dad in post #230006 under 'Qualification Range.' jumpollie
