I heard it on Good Morning America before work. Happened in the Straits of Hormuz (between Iran and UAE). Shallow water and way too much traffic make for a bad place to do submarine warfare. Unfortunately, that's the one place where we absolutely need to watch.
I lack people-skills.

you beat me to it! It seems this is happening more often than not. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,242479,00.html
- "Hundreds of thousands of American servicemen and women are deployed across the world in the war on terror. By bringing hope to the oppressed, and delivering justice to the violent, they are making America more secure. "

| Whew!...Nobody hurt, good! Good thing it was a K-Line double hull tanker, or else it could have been alot worse. Wouldn't have been your average hormuz traffic jam either! Bet it had the bubble heads running for GQ!

Sounds like they were running at periscope depth and didn't realize how deep the draft of the oncoming vessel was. Kind of like driving a 13' tall trailer under a bridge that only has 12' 11'' clearance.
I guess I never thought about how terrifing it must be to be onboard a nuclear reactor and feel a collision.
I lack people-skills.
